Have you ever heard anyone say that new business development is going to get easier and better next year?
Of course not, but I’m going to say it.
Yes, it’s unusual because we’re so used to hearing negativity from the industry. Oh, the pundits and gurus will tell (sell) you on the pain. They’ll say it’s going to be tougher than ever.
Everyone’s looking for the magic silver bullet. But, they’re looking in the wrong place.
In discussions with some of the 70 agency CEOs who are members of CEO Stars, there’s a definite trend to changing the way new business is done. Everyone’s doing the same thing, showing the same thing, and saying the same thing.
Our members are breaking some of those old new business rules. Who made up the rule that you should do a slide presentation? Why have we trained prospects to expect us to work our butts off to do presentation with what comes down to a beauty contest or guesswork about their business problems and solutions?
Together, our members have come up with the best new business approaches – changes that separate them from other ad agencies and puts them in an ‘easier’ position to win more new business. No consultant needed for that!
Some of you will disagree with me. That’s okay. These new approaches take guts. They’re not for everyone; they’re only for agency mavericks.
Already, our agency owners are getting up to a 23% increase in revenues from the ideas shared by their peers. And the growth will continue because we’re making it easier to get new business in 2020.
